Mediterranean

Santa Barbara’s mild climate is one of only five Mediterranean climates in the world. Our south facing coastline, coastal mountains and latitude create a unique climate that allows for a wide variety of landscape opportunities. Colorful Bougainvillea, Lavender, Rosemary, Agaves and Succulents are but a few of the many plants that define this palette of drought-tolerant, low-maintenance plant material. Inspired by the architecture and climates of Spain, Italy and France, the Mediterranean style is predominate in the Santa Barbara area.
